We discovered the insanely great e-mail subscription service MailChimp. Located in Atlanta, they seem light-years ahead of the other e-mail marketing programs we've used. Only problem is that to allow sign-up from a Joomla site, it was necessary to use MailChimp's "insert your HTML here". To simplify your site visitor's ability to sign up for your eBlasts, we created MailChimp Module2. This module allows you to display your MailChimp subscription form natively on your Joomla site. All other MailChimp configuration is performed within your account at MailChimp.com.
Mailchimp recently changed the way 3rd parties integrate with their service (their API). This required a rewrite of the internals of the module which is now available. If you are currently using a previous release of our module, please download the new version.
From the admin site, provide your MailChimp user name and password, and the mailing list id of the list you want the user to subscribe to. From the front side, the user types in his or her email address and clicks the submit button. The module does an AJAX call to the subscription program, so there is no page refresh. We proudly offer you our Joomla MailChimp Module2:
Please review the frequently asked questions and answers, as well as configuration tips about the MailChimp Module2, on the right.

Hugh MacLeod’s Social Objects and Fantastic Open Rates
We were impressed to find out that Hugh MacLeod‘s MailChimp campaigns consistently maintain a fantastic 40%+ open rate. What does a cartoonist know about email marketing? Well, as it turns out, he doesn’t worry about all the typical “email expert” stuff like A/B testing, sending at different times of day, experimenting with subject lines, etc. Instead, [...]

Most Newsletter Templates are Nonprofit Templates
MailChimp has many pre-designed templates for newsletters. We’re always adding more, too. A handful of these templates are designed specifically for nonprofit organizations, but most aren’t. Here’s the thing, though: Nonprofits can totally use the templates that aren’t specifically designated for nonprofits. This isn’t exactly news. But maybe your micromanager needed to hear it from someone [...]
